Marloth Park, in the province of Mpumalanga is a holiday town and game conservancy on the southern bank of the Crocodile River, which itself is the border of the Kruger National Park, close to Malelane and Komatipoort, the gateway to Mozambique.
Marloth Park is approximately 450 kms from Johannesburg and 95 kms from Nelspruit.
Marloth Park is unique in that, as a game conservancy, wild animals are allowed to roam freely in the park. Hence daily viewing of Impala, Kudu, Waterbuck, Nyala, Reed Buck,Blou Wildebeest, Giraffe, Warthogs, Duiker, Zebra, Mongooses, Baboons and Monkeys is common. A walk or drive along the bank of the Crocodile River often results in sightings of Elephant, Lion, Buffalo or Hippo. Lionspruit is an enclosed area within the park where visitors view Lion, Rhino and Buffalo. Properties are not fenced to allow the maximum sustainable number of animals to be kept.
